Born in Salvirola (province of Cremona) in 1939, his interest in the world of plastics began in the 1960s, when he was partner in a company manufacturing plastic films and plastic bags.
To solve substrate adhesion problems due to surface treatment systems that were still rather basic at the time, he asked Ezio Ferrarini for technical support.
After their first successes with surface treatment systems, they founded Ferrarini & Benelli in 1965.
In 1970, they filed their first patent.
The collaboration continued until 1991, when Ezio Ferrarini sold his shares to Diego Benelli, who took over the company.
His technical skills and entrepreneurial vision led him to develop new products, file new patents and increase the company's sales to a position of market leadership.
Since 1995, he has been able to count on the support of his daughter Claudia, who runs the company today.
An accomplished skier, sailor and aeroplane pilot, he combines his passion for sports and work with great enthusiasm.
